Comedian Sinbad Returns to IP’s Studio A Sept. 8

BILOXI, Miss.—Legendary actor and comedian Sinbad will return to IP CASINO RESORT & SPA’s Studio A  on Friday, Sept. 8.

Sinbad has been a force on the comedy circuit for more than three decades, making numerous appearances on the stage as well as the big screen. A Michigan native, Sinbad launched his career in the 1980s after making several appearances on the variety show “Star Search.”

His first television role came in 1987 when he starred in the sitcom “A Different World.” By 1993, his popularity led him to star in his own series “The Sinbad Show.” Sinbad made his film debut playing Andre Krimm in “Necessary Roughness” and also had leading roles in “Jingle All the Way, “Houseguest,” “First Kid” and “Good Burger.” Later in his career, Sinbad made appearances on several television shows, including “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Sinbad’s quintessential comedy style is built on stories that include exchanges with family, friends and strangers, as well as the time he spent in the United States Air Force. He also takes the trials and tribulations of audience members and pokes fun, creating an interactive comedy experience.

Comedy Central named Sinbad one of its top-100 comedians of all time and featured him in a special program in 2010. He received a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award two years in a row for his annual HBO Special, “Sinbad’s ‘70s Soul Music Festival.”

Stayin true to his roots as a serviceman, Sinbad has performed multiple United Service Organizations (USO) shows for troops deployed to Bagram and Kandahar Air Force Bases in Afghanistan in 2015.
