DUBUQUE, IowaThe Filament – an illuminating new addition to the Diamond Jo Casino entertainment experience – is now open.

The all-new, exciting brewpub offers an ideal location for locals and visitors alike to meet-up and eat-up, featuring a wide selection of signature cocktails, more than 20 craft beers, a bright new take on pub cuisine and an inviting environment.

The Space

The Filament borrows its name from its distinctive Edison light bulb accents. Its polished pony kegs, colorful drinks, dark wood fixtures and a custom-made pewter bar top create a smart and polished aesthetic, the perfect environment for socializing with friends, family and colleagues. The venue is conveniently located on the gaming floor, just inside the east entrance.

The Cuisine

The dining menu at The Filament presents a unique perspective on traditional pub fare and features elevated bar food and twists on classic favorites. The menu is comprised of brilliant shareables, dazzling large plates, radiant greens and soups, incandescent burgers and sandwiches and luminous desserts, all complemented by a notable craft beer and handcrafted cocktail selection. Ingenious new menu highlights include:

  • Shareables: Reuben Egg Rolls; Hot & Spicy Edamame; inventive sliders such as the Grilled Cheese Sliders with Dante Farms sheep’s milk cheddar and Wisconsin fontina on griddled sourdough with oven-roasted tomato bisque; and Swiss Cheese & Mushroom Sliders featuring three mini Iowa beef patties, mushroom duxelle and Swiss cheese on a brioche bun. 
  • Large plates: Mussel with Thai Red Curry; hearty Spaghetti and Meatball, featuring a one-pound meatball filled with mozzarella cheese, topped with fire-roasted tomato sauce and whipped ricotta cheese over spaghetti noodles and a side of griddled garlic bread.
  • Burgers and Sandwiches: Sloppy Jo with house braised pot roast, tangy Jo sauce and onion on a butter griddled brioche roll; and Iowa Pork T made of hand-cut breaded butterflied pork chop, sliced tomato, red onion and bibb lettuce on a butter griddled brioche roll.
  • Signature desserts: Skillet Cookie, a fresh-baked, cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie topped with old-fashioned vanilla ice cream and hot fudge; State Fair Funnel Cake straws with hot chocolate dipping sauce; and the Potosi Root Beer Float with old-fashioned vanilla ice cream.

Beers & Cocktails

The Filament boasts an incredible selection of handcrafted signature cocktails and craft beer selections in addition to its wine list. Beer enthusiasts will enjoy more than 20 brews including a selection of microbrews, offering something for every palate. Specialty cocktails include:

  • Fritz’s Kilo-Wit Cocktail: a Belgian cocktail with orange and lemon juice;
  • Radiant Raz Martini: a blend of pomegranate vodka and liqueur with fresh raspberries;
  • Bright Idea: an invigorating melon cocktail of Bacardi Rum, Midori melon liqueur and a splash of Sprite and orange juice;
  • Mexican Mule: Jose Cuervo tequila, Crabbie’s spiced orange ginger beer and lime juice.
