Tin Lizard Bar & Grill at Kansas Star Casino Hotel Event Center recently kicked off an exciting tour for taste buds that already has customers raving. Kansas Star’s Assistant General Manager Rick Goldstein worked with the Tin Lizard culinary staff late last year to develop the “Burger World Tour,” a unique monthly series which brings city-inspired burgers to the table at Tin Lizard.
“I saw a huge opportunity to provide an exciting twist on a menu favorite at Tin Lizard,” Goldstein said.
The tour will take taste buds on a wild trip of a different city each month, with January kicking things off in Georgia’s capital. The Atlanta Burger is packed with comfort-food goodness, overflowing with mac and cheese, Wisconsin aged cheddar and Havarti, and topped off with thick, peppered bacon.
Pizza and burgers have been top sellers at Tin Lizard since it opened last year, but when Goldstein joined the Kansas Star team, he saw an opportunity to up the ante.
“To make the experience even more fun, we decided to come up with some exciting burgers that would be jaw-dropping and delicious, giving our guests their favorite burger, but with a twist,” he said.
The tour continues all year, with more cities slated throughout the United States. Next up in February is the Frito Chili Pie Burger, inspired by the midwestern treat. It's a 100% Angus beef patty on a cheddar cheese brioche bun, served with herbed mustard aoili, lettuce, tomato, red onion, a helping of Frito Chili Pie, smoked cheddar and American cheese. Also on the docket is The Dallas, which features cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, Texas chili and chopped onions, served on a buttermilk bun; The Denver, with cheddar and Swiss cheeses, a ham omelet, sautéed onions, and sweet peppers on a ciabatta roll; and The Kansas City, served with mounds of pulled pork, smoked Gouda, piles of BBQ potato chips, onions and green slaw on a corn-dusted bun, and loaded up on BBQ sauce.
“Our guests love this high-energy restaurant for its unique atmosphere and flair for entertainment,” Goldstein said. “The Burger World Tour is just another thing that makes Tin Lizard so special.”
