After nearly a week over Texas and Louisiana, Tropical Storm Harvey has finally moved inland.
Boyd Gaming has a significant presence in this region, with multiple properties and thousands of team members. We are closely monitoring the impact this terrible storm is having on our team members.
As of Thursday, August 31, all five of our Louisiana properties – Delta Downs, Evangeline Downs, Amelia Belle, Treasure Chest and Sam’s Town Shreveport – remain open for business, and damage to our properties appears minimal at this time.
While our properties were not significantly impacted, the same cannot be said for some of our Louisiana team members.
Flooding is particularly severe in areas west of our Delta Downs property, and the communities that many of our team members call home. While we are still evaluating the situation, we anticipate that many of our team members will need support in the days ahead.
Boyd Gaming will provide assistance to impacted team members, and we are getting many requests from team members who want to help as well. We have our Team Member Crisis Fund for situations like this.
During the entire month of September, all donations you make to the Team Member Crisis Fund will be designated for team members impacted by Harvey. The Company will match your contributions to the Crisis Fund, dollar for dollar, during this timeframe.
If you would like to make a donation, please see your Human Resources Department for assistance. And remember: No donation is too small. Every dollar helps!
We will provide additional updates as we learn more. Thank you for supporting your fellow team members, and your generosity. Please keep your Louisiana colleagues in your thoughts as they begin the recovery process.
