Boyd Gaming to Acquire Five New Properties

Last week marked an exciting new chapter in the history of Boyd Gaming. In two separate transactions, the Company announced its agreement to acquire five new properties across the Midwest and Northeast:

  • Ameristar St. Charles, just west of St. Louis;
  • Ameristar Kansas City;
  • Belterra Resort Casino, in southern Indiana;
  • Belterra Park, in Cincinnati; and,
  • Valley Forge Casino Resort, located just west of Philadelphia.

“With the successful completion of these acquisitions, Boyd Gaming will gain direct access to four of the nation's largest gaming markets – Philadelphia, St. Louis, Kansas City and Cincinnati – with a combined population of nearly 10 million adults,” said Keith Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming. “We believe this expansion will help drive additional growth throughout our nationwide portfolio, as we market our destination properties to these new customers in the Midwest and Northeast."

The Company expects to complete these transactions in the second half of 2018. Once they are completed, Boyd Gaming will operate a total of 29 casinos in 10 states, adding three new states to the Company’s portfolio: Missouri, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The Boyd Gaming family will be joined by more than 5,000 new team members, expanding our team to more than 25,000 people.

In a letter to all team members, Smith expressed his appreciation for all they do to help the Company succeed and welcomed our new colleagues to the family.

“These acquisitions are a big moment for our Company. And they would not have been possible without your contributions, your hard work, and your dedication to delivering great entertainment experiences for our guests,” said Smith. “I hope you will join me in welcoming our new colleagues to Boyd Gaming. Together, we will be a stronger Boyd Gaming than ever.”
