Boyd Gaming Properties Donate Nearly $100,000 During ‘Trees of Hope’

Boyd Gaming properties across the country helped spread holiday cheer this December, awarding nearly $100,000 to dozens of nonprofit organizations across the nation that participated in the Company’s annual ‘Trees of Hope’ tree-decorating competition.

Over the last 10 years, Trees of Hope has become a tradition benefitting nonprofit organizations throughout the United States, awarding nearly $500,000 since the competition began. A total of 14 Boyd Gaming properties in four states participated in last year’s competition, providing charities with much-needed funding and invaluable exposure for their missions as customers voted for their favorite charity’s tree.

New to Trees of Hope this year was the addition of social media voting in Las Vegas and at Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner, La. In addition to voting in-person at participating properties, the public was invited to vote online for their favorite charity through Boyd Gaming’s Facebook page and Treasure Chest’s Facebook page. This allowed for a separate social media contest that awarded an additional prize pool to the top three performing charities in each market. In total, more than 200,000 votes were submitted on social media and at participating properties across the country.

Supporting the communities we call home is an essential part of Boyd Gaming’s culture. Trees of Hope continues to spread holiday cheer through the Company’s support of local charities that serve our communities and our families.
