Eldorado and Jokers Wild Car Wash Raises Funds for Those in Crisis

Wax on. Wax off.

Few understand that better than the Eldorado Casino and Jokers Wild Casino Property Management Team who hosted a charity car wash for a great cause.

The charity car wash for team members and by team members benefited Boyd Gaming’s Team Member Crisis Fund. It took place over two days last August in the Eldorado and Jokers Wild parking lots.

“It was a tremendous opportunity for the Management Team to show support for United Way, and at the same time, make a direct positive impact to the Team Member Crisis Fund,” said Operations Manager Jay Gougar, adding, “We care about our team members.”

Implemented in partnership with United Way, the Team Member Crisis Fund provides financial assistance to team members across the country who are suffering a financial hardship due to a tragic event, such as natural disaster, accident, illness, family emergency or other life-altering event.

Boyd Gaming co-founder Sam Boyd helped found the southern Nevada chapter of the United Way during the 1960s. Boyd Gaming Corporation provides continued support to the United Way through annual fund raising campaigns like the car wash.

For the car wash event, Eldorado and Jokers Wild team members were asked to donate a minimum $5 to the Crisis Fund. Each donation was given in exchange for an exterior car wash, performed by volunteers from the Property Management Team, including:

  • Mike Connors, Director of Operations
  • Jay Gougar, Operations Manager
  • Mark Sullivan, Assistant Slot Manager
  • Paul Mendralla, Food and Beverage Operations Manager
  • Adrienne Arbitrario, Senior HR Specialist
