Guests at the AAA Four-Diamond IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi have an all-new spot to eat and drink 24 hours a day.
Bayview Café and 850 Wine & Spirits, located off the hotel lobby, opened their doors to great enthusiasm in September. On their first day, the contemporary yet casual restaurant and bar served more than 600 people.
“Bayview Café and 850 Wine & Spirits are already a big hit for IP,” said Emily Burke, Public Relations Manager for IP. “We are so excited to see such a great start to the opening of the new restaurant and bar.”
An ideal space for relaxing and socializing, the sophisticated 375-seat cafe features a maritime design and regionally-inspired creative cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late-night and in-room dining. Dishes span from Mississippi Gulf seafood and coastal favorites to Asian-inspired items. The menu also retains favorites from the former Costa Cucina Italian restaurant, which the new venue replaced. Some of the restaurant’s highlight dishes include the Mississippi Style Seafood Gumbo, Cast Iron Local Shrimp, Classic Reuben and their delicious burgers that can all be made vegan.
850 Wine & Spirits, named as a nod to the property’s address 850 Bayview Ave., offers a full bar with a creative cocktail menu and its own food menu of bar favorites. The centerpiece is a jewel-like glassed-in wine room and an Italian Enomatic wine dispenser, which allows patrons to sample one-ounce, 2.5-ounce or 5-ounce tastes of wine. Full glasses and bottles are also available.
“Our celebrated Sommelier, John Gaulke, picked the perfect blends of white and red wines,” said Burke. “The white wines are kept refrigerated and chilled, while the red wines are kept at the perfect room temperature.”
At 850 Wine & Spirits, locals and visitors can enjoy “Social Hour” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily or stop in for a night-cap after an evening of entertainment and gaming.
More than 150 community partners attended the restaurant and bar’s official ribbon cutting on September 25, where they munched on appetizers from Chef Johnson’s menu and experienced the wine dispenser. The ribbon was cut by representatives from IP and the city of Biloxi, including Executive Director of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Adele Lyons and Biloxi City Councilman Felix Gines.
Along with transforming the casino floor, Burke notes that the new restaurant and bar have already attracted quite a following.
“The opening of Bayview Café and 850 Wine & Spirits has generated great buzz and energy not only for our guests, but for our team members as well,” said Burke. “IP’s entrance to the lobby and casino floor now has an open airy feeling that is sure to impress, offering a relaxing and casual ambiance where locals have already made it their new ‘hangout’ place.”
