Education Pays Off at Boyd Gaming

When was the last time someone paid you for paying your bills? If a student loan is in your monthly budget, you may be eligible for up to $1,000 per year in repayment assistance. This component of Boyd Gaming’s three-pronged education support program is a new addition to its team member benefits program.

“Education is a valuable asset for our team members and our Company,” explains Team Member Services Director, Heather Seebald. “We’re looking to move beyond the typical benefit offerings and support team members’ long-term career goals.”

Am I eligible?

You may apply if you:

  • Are a full-time Boyd Gaming team member with at least three years of continuous service,
  • Have received a satisfactory rating on your last performance evaluation,
  • Completed the degree for which the loan was made, and
  • Are currently making payments on the loan and the loan is not in default.

How do I apply?

Eligible team members can apply by downloading the Student Loan Repayment Request Form from the Boyd Advantage section of Complete the form and submit it with your student loan statement and proof of degree completion (e.g., a copy of your diploma or transcript) to You can also submit the form and documentation through Service Now (under Education Policy) that can be accessed from your work station.

What’s the deadline?

Applications for reimbursement are due on October 1 of each year.

Is there a limit on how much I can receive?

There is no cap or limitation on the number of years you can apply for and receive funds through this program. The age of the loan doesn’t matter either. “You can have just graduated or completed your degree a decade ago or longer,” says Seebald. “As long as the loan is still active and not in default, you can reapply every year you meet the eligibility criteria.”

When will I receive payment?

After you submit your application and support materials, Team Member Services will process it, managing the verification of eligibility and necessary approvals. Applicants will be notified after October 1 and receive payment in December.
