Boyd Gaming destinations throughout the country helped make the 2019 holiday season brighter by awarding more than $130,000 to 125 non-profit organizations nationwide through the Company’s annual “Trees of Hope” tree-decorating competition.
Established in 2007 at Boyd Gaming’s Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel in Vinton, La., Trees of Hope has become a favorite holiday tradition benefitting non-profit organizations throughout the United States. A total of 17 Boyd Gaming properties in seven states participated in the 2019 competition, including properties in Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Each participating destination was proud to help provide charities with much-needed funding and invaluable exposure for their missions, as hundreds of thousands of votes were cast by Boyd Gaming guests.
For the third year, the Las Vegas community was invited to give their favorite charity’s tree a second chance to win a cash prize by voting online on Boyd Gaming’s social media pages. The social media contest awarded an additional prize pool of $5,000 to the top three performing charities in the Las Vegas market. Properties in Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Louisiana also hosted social media contests that allowed guests to support their favorite charity by voting online.
Congratulations to all the nonprofit organizations that participated! The first place standings by property are as follows:
