Michigan City, Ind. – Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa today announced a comprehensive remodel of its original hotel tower, redesigning and refurnishing 184 guest rooms and suites. The project, which employs about 60 union workers, is slated for completion by December 1.
The original Blue Chip tower features 168 guest rooms and 16 suites. The upgrade will incorporate a modern, sleek design and updated features within each room. Hotel corridors, elevators and other public areas will also be updated to provide a crisp, clean design that complements the upscale look and feel of the 302-room Spa Blu tower.
“The luxurious and distinctive experience of our Spa Blu hotel is a big reason why Blue Chip is such a popular entertainment destination in this region,” says Lief Erickson, Vice President and General Manager of Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa. “This renovation brings exceptional quality to every hotel room at this property.”
Las Vegas interior design company Tandem Design crafted the fresh feel for the guest rooms and suites. Their themes combine rich wood textures with a warm, nature-inspired color palette of browns accented by orange and white.
The standard guest rooms now feature a built-in wardrobe and an open-closet look, giving the rooms a more modern feel. Additionally, guest room amenities including furniture, lighting fixtures, electronics, artwork and more have all been updated to reflect the fresh design.
The suites have also undergone a dramatic transformation, including the installation of a dividing wall between the sleeping and sitting areas, to enhance guest’s privacy and comfort. Additional upgrades include all-new contemporary-style sofas and lounge chairs and fully remodeled bathrooms.
The guest room and suite refreshment at Blue Chip are part of an ongoing effort to enhance Boyd Gaming properties across the country. For more information on this and other projects, visit BoydGaming.com/Amenities.
